Kim's Concert List

Are you all SURE you want me to post concerts I've been to!? It could be VERY long. I'm not sure I can even remember them all. It may make me sound spoiled or something! LOL Broadway musicals excluded--right?
If you are seriously interested you might want to check back to this post because I may remember something and add to it.
In no particular order of age or preference, the nominees are.......

REO Speedwagon
Styx--at least 3 times
Journey--twice--once Bryan Adams opened for them, the other time Joan Jett
Loverboy--not a very good concert
Huey Lewis and the News
Night Ranger
Eurythmics--loved it!
Jimmy Buffet
James Taylor--3 or 4 times--love him, fabulous in concert
The Scorpions
Barry Manilow
Stevie Wonder--he was really good--he had a guy that lead him around on stage, pretty cool

Janet Jackson--she was great! I saw a lady/mom person I went to church with at the time. She seemed like a pretty conservative, Primary teacher type as far as I knew. I saw her at this concert in a one piece, black velvet CAT SUIT! zipper all the way down the back! LOL Pretty funny I must say.

Van Halen 1984--I went to a see a missionary of at the airport that morning, then the funeral of my cousin who was hit by lightning the day I graduated from High School and then this rowdy concert that night. June 5, 1984--It was a LONG emotional day! I think I slept for a couple of days after it was all over!

Berlin
INXS
Whitney Houston--fantastic--she was a nobody at the time
The GoGo's

SOME OF MY FAVES

Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus--last year with my sweet Emmy! She asked me about it when the tickets first came out and I could not believe that it was $250 just to get into the Delta Center and sit at the very top. I told her there would be NO way we could go. She was really bummed but handled it like a trooper. Being the "live" event, Broadway show geek that I am, I employed one of my old tricks--waiting for the day of the show and watching the tickets on the internet! Well, a couple of hours before the show they dropped thru the floor. You could buy them for face value AT the Delta Center. A perfect seat for $50. I paid double that, not knowing this until I actually got to the concert. We were about 8 or ten rows off of the floor on a 30 degree angle or so to the stage! Perfect! I went out to the family room and told her to "get ready" because I had a surprise for her. We had SO much fun! Miley Cyrus was energetic, clean and rocked it out! Emmy was SO grateful and thanked me over and over again! One of my favorite concert memories for sure!

Michael Crawford--2 times--once with mome' and Robyn--a true concert master and a spiritual experience

Audra McDonald--with the Utah Symphony during the 2002 Olympic Games

Idina Menzel--Martha's Vineyard with my best friend, need I say more?!

Linda Eder--5 times ( i think, saw her once in Vegas too)--an incomparable songstress that delivers ALL you hope for and more! Plus "just" Jeremy. One of the best singers you could ever see, singing with the Utah Symphony! Delightful, moving, spiritual at times for sure.

THE WORST

Anybody who knows me, and I don't think you need to know me well, knows that I HATE country music! I despise it. It puts me in a very bad mood and grates against my "inner music core".

One time when Jason and I were traveling to Arizona, we lost all radio reception. It was pitch black in the middle of nowhere. Hannah was asleep in the back seat. (this tells you how long ago, we only had Hannah! no ipods or other music devices, cell phones etc) Like I said, I really can't stand country music. I told Jason that I bet the first station we were able to get would be a country station. Then I went even further to bet that the song would be "She's the Queen of my Double-wide Trailer". If I'm lyin' I'm dyin'! That was the station and the song we got right outside of Flagstaff! LOL

So, there IS relevance to the "concert" theme here. When I was 8+ months pregnant with Delaney, Jason and his partner decided to buy tickets to some great country concert as Christmas presents for some of the guys that work for them, and of course, for US!

What a nightmare! Two or three hours of all different kinds of country singers. I remember one of the performers was Kenny Chesney. It was torture for me! Huge and pregnant, January, country music! Makes me me feel anxious just thinking about it! LOL As this event dragged on and on, I was trying so hard to be good--I swear, I lean over to Jason and say something like, "I'm not going to have to hear "She's the Queen of my Double-wide Trailer" am I?" Because I new that would be the last, eerie straw for me. Well, sure as shootin', out comes the dude and he sings this song! I couldn't believe it!

I'm sure there are more, but I'm sure I've said enough for now.

"Think of me, think of me fondly"
Shiksa--Goddess of Goetz

Well Kimmy! You ARE the queen of my double wide trailer! (if I had one, you would be)
Kenny Chesney is one of my favorite country singers and a great ticket was probably wasted on YOU! I'll be Jason's date next country concert!!!
Asking Kim to post her concerts is like asking how many relatives we have that have named ALL their children starting with the letter "J"??? Impossible!!!
So, in my first journal, I had to list my family, and what they like to do! I was 8 and Kim= go to concerts!
You are a total rocker man!
I hope I can even remember all mine! Wish me luck!

Don't forget about "Rock Jam" you just went to! BTW, pretty hilarious that you wrote that in your journal! That means you were D's age, lol.

Kelli, mome' --comment on Linda, I know you have both seen her too! Isn't she sublime? :)

I saw Linda on Valentines with you, Kelli, Mom (and spouses)...my date was Mark B :) and he shouted "I love you Linda" when she came out and she responded (we were on like the 3rd row?) "I love you too." Good times.

She was amazing in concert... I didn't want it to end!

I don't think ANY of us wanted Linda to stop singing! She's amazing! Beyond amazing and I could watch "Just Jeremy" for hours too! He is so great with her!

I forgot all about that! Mark does love her and we WERE sitting really close. I'm so glad we all got the opportunity to see her!

OH BTW--Sammy Kershaw sings "She's the Queen of my Double-wide Trailer"! I had to google it, Kelli didn't remember--can you believe that?!

I found the song on the internet and played it for Emmy, she is 10 yrs old, she was laughing pretty hard at the silly lyrics. It is supposed to be a heart-felt dramatic song you know, but it's hard to take it seriously when you hear it! LMBO
