GOATS

For all of you out there who have not had the joy of having a goat in your life, you are really missing something!  I, personally, have never owned a goat but have been lucky enough to have one or two that have influenced my life.  The goat I currently speak so fondly of is the next-door neighbor's goat.  Her name is Dove.  She has a "kid" named Sprinkle.  Apparently Dove wants more "kids"! LOL  So the neighbors have sent her up to "Bruce's".  He, is to my knowledge, an owner/breeder of goats and the owner of some very handsome "man goats".

Well, I had no idea, but many goats apparently look similar.  So similar in fact, that it became necessary, at Bruce's request, to "spray paint" the goat.  This was done in an effort to identify the goat properly so that when the time comes Bruce will retrieve the proper goat and give it back to its rightful owners, my neighbors.  I was not fortunate enough to participate in the actual "decorating" of the goat or to even see her before she left.  :(     But, and I have this on authority, she was "spray painted" with zebra stripes with a black can of spray paint that was conveniently located within the garage.

These are the nicest people, truly.  They are also extremely innovative and brave.  They do not have a truck or other "goat worthy" vehicle to transport this goat to Bruce's house and he lives an hour away!  So they take the 3rd seat out of their Dodge Caravan and put down a nice thick tarp and take her to her destination via this unusual form of goat transportation. It probably feels like a limosine to her compared to a farm truck!  How hilarious!  A goat in a van!  I don't have a picture of this either--very very :(   However,  I have been informed that Dove will be home on Friday!  Woo Hoo!  Answers to FAQ's--YES, they will bring her home in the van--NO, I do not know if she stands, sits or lays down while she rides in the van--YES, she still has her stripes and they may be there until spring--NO ONE knows for sure if she will be "with kid"--YES, I have laughed a lot at this and so have many others--NO,we do not know if Sprinkle will be jealous of a little brother or sister--NO, I do not have any pics to verify or magnify the hilarity of the situation  and finally--YES, I WILL try to take some pics of her when she comes home and post them for you all to see.

I have heard the neighbor reference this goat Dove. And it is one of THE most hilarious things I've EVER heard! (and I've heard a lot)
Keep em comin' Bleak!

The best part is that all the information was given to you from the 12-year-old neighbor over a weeks time during Jr. High carpool.

I love her matter-of-factness about it. Really, not everyone just puts a tarp in the back of their minivan and takes their goat to Bruce's.

Glad to hear that Dove will be back soon. Say "Baaaa" to Sprinkle for me.

Just your comments make me laugh you two! I will say "baaa" to Sprinkle but honestly, she doesn't really like me that much. She talks to her owners all the time. I guess she recognizes THEIR voices. I also think that she doesn't respond well to sarcasm. She has been really down since Dove left too. Not quite herself. I can even read her "goat" body language from all they way over here! LOL

OK Kim - Hilarious! You are so funny. I do think, however, that there are some delicious details that have been left out! I mean, if you've ever seen... well, never mind. The whole thing is just a mind blower! A goat, named Dove, spray painted like a zebra, riding in a minivan, calling out to little Sprinkle as she is wisked away to the love guru, "I'll be baaaaaack!"
Look out Dave Barry - you've just met your match!

It was so fun to visit yesterday! Cheap therapy:) Oh, and hello to all of you cute sisters!

Annie! your comment is every bit, if not MORE funny than the story! I got a really good, long laugh from it. Did you read my story about GOETZ? You really should. Give Jenny your email address or something and I could give you more details on Dove and her little owner's rendition of what poor Dove and little Sprinkle have been, and still are, going through! lol

I said "baaaaa" to Sprinkle for Jenny but I think she thinks I'm being sarcastic or something! Can you believe that!? Maybe goats are smarter than we think...or maybe...A LOT of different species understand sarcasm...

Things that make you go "hmmmmm...." with wonderment-and some little gears and a question mark within the bubble that appears over your head.

Ok Kim--it is very funny! But the extra details make it even more funny. Update us on Sprinkle, Dove, etc...soon...Is someone dressing up as a goat for Halloween at your house? Are you?
