So I was browsing msn.com today and saw this pic! I started laughing and had to find another, there are not many out there because well... it's just not THAT common!
I so wish I could capture the Alpine House and being in the middle of nowhere with one pair of moonboots and socks on our hands!
So here's my tribute to all the times we pushed people out of our "driveway" to using the garage "rugs" aka carpet remnants from when the house was built, as traction devices!!! If you didn't get the car out in the first few tries they would get all snowy and icy and would soon be useless, that's when we got smarter and started using people's own floormats!
You HAD to drive just the right speed to get around that corner and it was kinda fast in some places, we were all pros, even Robby in her Gold Oldsmobile had to figure it out! We all know how to correctly drive a front wheel drive car better than 4wd's in the snow, we gots skills sistas! (that definitely includes you too Mome')
So here's to all of us now living among snow plows, and salt trucks, to mats without tire tracks on them, to some of us in 4wd driving up mountains to ski with our kiddies, or just to have a "yard sale" at Sundance without skiing there (another story).
Rock on Peterson girls you won't find us in a bind when it comes to survival in the snow! And if you are in Jenny's car, you can stop and have a snack after pushing that other bad driving out, and probably find a new outfit to wear also!!!

You have to fill me in on the last sentence! What's with Jenny--and a new outfit? What funny memories..we did get good at driving in the snow and mud! I wish we had pictures of it!
Kelli thinks it's funny how much stuff I keep in my car. We went somewhere many years ago, and each time my kids got out of the car they had a different coat or hat or whatever on. You can't ever be too prepared! We should all do the blog post where you list what's in your trunk...then you'd understand.
Right on Jen. In the winter I keep a heavy jacket, and boots with warm socks. I also have jumper cables, a rope. I need food and water - I'll have to work on that. We did learn some good survival skills, didn't we!!
