A trip down memory lane....

Kelli, Robyn, and I drove up to our old house Saturday. The lane still has the private property sign at the end where the gate use to be...the Halls playhouses are no longer there....and the man that bought our house is a dog trainer so there was obstacle courses, etc on the front lawn...(he could have helped me out with Petey) it made me laugh as I thought about how I flipped over the top of my dog right there. anyway...here's our old house...the poor man (Greg) got an earful of who had the green, blue and orange room...there were some tears (we won't say who) but that's one thing that we LOVE so much about her.

Here's the quanset hut! Look at what they've done with it! AMAZING.

Here's the road between Kelly's and Long's that we use to ride our 4 wheelers or motorcycles thru to get up to the old stone house, the bowery, and 3 mines!

Here's the Johnson's old house...I really don't like the fence around it, and the neighbors between the Trinnamins and Johnsons (right where Moyles Pond was) put this huge gate across their driveway it looks so uninviting...

and check it out! it's the driving range where we all learned to drive. (Mr. Kitchen!) aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

It was a memorable trip down memory "lane" haha! It was so comforting and made us all happy to know that Greg LOVES living in our house and actually tried to tell us all about the deer, skunks, raccoons, bobcats, elk, etc, etc, that come down and hang out in the yard!!! We went past the high school all proud to be Cavemen!!! Alpine has changed so much, it's very bittersweet to go back! Thanks for capturing some moments on film Lor! Post some video too!

Way to go Lori. I went and saw the Alpine house last year and thought the obstacle courses meant they were Scout leaders...good to clarify that. It's nice to know that Greg is enjoying living there. Did you teach him how to put soap on the kitchen floor and slide from the living room to the family room? He might like that.

As far as who might have shed some tears...it wouldn't surprise me to see all three of you a little misty-eyed.

It's pretty bittersweet looking at the photos and thinking of old memories. We have SO many years of memories in that house and in that neighborhood. In some ways I miss it A LOT, in other ways, not so much. I hope someone likes living in our house and takes good care of it.

As far as the driving range goes...I had a girl in my class who went to park her car and drove right into the chain link fence knocking it down. Remember how we had to listen to them on the radio in the car? They would talk to us from the tower? Sometimes we would try to change our radio to a different station. Wow, you could get in big trouble for that! Does everyone remember Mr. Kitchen being as mean as I do!?

I had Mr. Kitchen for the classroom teacher, but thank heavens I had Bobby Eckles for the road! I was in the first class to drive on that range! The old range was the parking lot when it emptied out!
